Joe Castro / ABNRML 'ABNRML 30th Anniversary' Art Print

2011 is an important year for Abnormal Tees. It is our 30 year anniversary! ABNRML started in Los Angeles in 1981 and has been printing for the last 30 years. Some of our printers have been around since the beginning. To commemorate this important achievement, we commissioned an art print from Joe Castro of Red Attic Studios. Joe came up with a 'from rooster to rabbit' theme from the Chinese zodiac symbols. There is also 30 ABNRML stars on each print. The print is also reversible so you can sport the rooster or the rabbit, depending on whether you are feeling like the 80s or more modern! This 3-color print was screened on extremely special patterned French Paper with some metallic gold and measures 12.5"x19".

ABNRML 2010 Xmas Tee

It is almost too stinking cute to wear! Just slap the ABNRML logo on a t-shirt with a Santa hat and a Christmas tree and our plans for a simple and kid friendly holiday shirt came to life! This 3-color sport grey tee was designed by ABNRML and given to family and friends on Christmas day. It will also be available in our web store at ABNRML.com.

ABNRML 2010 Graphic Tee

ABNRML's 2010 graphic t-shirt was designed by T-Bone & Aljax. It is a humorous and whimsical take on how Abnormal mixes inks! This special graphic tee print is a 3-color sand t-shirts. It was given out to various friends and family on Christmas and will be for sale in our web store soon. Special thanks to T-Bone & Aljax for coming up with this design for us!

T-Bone & Aljax / ABNRML 'Disco Biscuits' Poster

Ring them bells! Ring in the new year with The Disco Biscuits at The Tower in Philadelphia, PA and this spectacular new ABNRML print. This brand new poster is for The Disco Biscuits two night stand at The Tower in Upper Darby. This poster was printed and produced by ABNRML.com and designed by none other than T-Bone & Aljax. Matt, one of the owners here at Abnormal, has been a Disco Biscuits forever, so it was a real thrill for us to create the official Disco Biscuits New Years Eve poster. It is a 4-color print screened on black French Paper 19"X25" cover stock. 100 of these special prints will be available at the show. A limited number will be available through us on 1/1/11. Joe Castro / ABNRML 'Deerhoof' Poster

We just had the pleasure of printing a new poster for Deerhoof! The poster is a 19"X25" screen print on orange French Paper. The collage design was created for ABNRML by Joe Castro of Red Attic Studios. The band had asked for a Philadelphia based artist so we were happy to have Joe on board. This poster is our first print for 2011! It is for Deerhoof's show on Febuary 11, 2011 at the Theatre of the Living Arts in Philadelphia, PA. This is a very limited edition print for the band and Live Nation. An extremely limited number of these were screened. Printed and produced by ABNRML.com.

The 50/50 Company 'USA' Art Print

We are very pleased to display the very first print we have done for GL/CK The 50/50 Company. It looks as if this neat 1-color print is the beginning of several art prints from 50/50. This is a 1-color print on 19'X25" French Paper white cover stock and will be available from 50/50 via the link below sometime in the future. We thought the patterns really turned out neat for this project. We look forward to working with 50/50 more in the future.

After all the success of our previous Ween prints, ABNRML was asked to help out with a print for a Gene Ween solo performance. ABNRML cohorts T-Bone & Aljax stepped up to the plate (literally), pointed towards the outfield and smacked a home run poster design! Printed and produced by ABNRML.com and designed by the legendary T-Bone & Aljax, this limited edition 4-color print was screened with love and devotion on 19"X25" French Paper white speckletone card stock. You can almost taste the goodness! This print will be for sale by Gene Ween at the show on December 17th 2010 at The Black Cat in Washington, DC and also available through ABNRML.com the night after the show!

Zomic 'Maserati' Poster

Take a look at the 3-color print by Zomic.org for Maserati's latest performance in Philadelphia at the Kung Fu Necktie on November 12th 2010. We first printed the Maserati name when they played with Mono last year and were featured on one of Zomic's prints. This new poster is a 3-color screen print on 19"X25" French Paper cover stock. A very limited number of these were available at the show. A few are left for sale through Zomic.

T-Bone & Aljax / ABNRML 'Sufjan Stevens' Poster

Some time ago we had the pleasure of seeing an intimate performance by Sufjan Stevens at Johnny Brendas in Philladelphia. The show was very small and featured Sufjan exploring some new material and a new sound. It was one of the top ten concerts we have ever been to. Last night ABNRML had the pleasure to see Sufjan Stevens at the Academy of Music featuring his fully realized new sound with his 13 piece touring band. His new material was accompanied by stage theatrics, horns and dancers. This poster was an exclusive print for Live Nation promotion and as a gift for Mr. Sufjan Stevens himself. It was not for sale to the public. A very small amount of these are for sale now through ABNRML. A limited edition of 40 prints were screened. It is a 4-color silk screen on French Paper cover stock designed by T-Bone & Aljax and printed and produced by ABNRML. J Dub All Stars 'Citizen Cope AC' Posters

This neat print was screened for the Citizen Cope performance in Atlantic City, NJ in October. These are 3-color designs by John Warner over at J Dub All Stars. The print was only available the night of the shows and are screened on 19"X19" French Paper cover stock. We really like how this one came out! A very limited edition of these were produced.

J Dub All Stars 'Frolic 25th Anniversary' Poster

It is very rare that a poster we print here at ABNRML is not music related. This art print was screened for the retail store 'Frolic' that has several location throughout the east coast. This print and accompanying t-shirt marks their 25th anniversary! It was designed by J Dub All Stars exclusively for Frolic. The print is a 3-color 19"X25" print and is only available at the Exton, PA location.

J Dub All Stars 'Citizen Cope Austin' Poster

Citizen Cope does so well they have both a Texas Tour print as well as specific show posters! This is the print for their two night stand performances at Stubb's BBQ in Austin, TX on Septembner 17th and 18th. This was an elaborate 4-color print designed by J Dub All Stars and screened on black French Paper cover stock. A limited number of these were screened and were only available on tour.

J Dub All Stars 'Citizen Cope TX' Poster

We have printed a slew of Citizen Cope merchandise over the last year or so. We printed a lot of posters that never made it onto the blog so we are going to post a handful. This is the J Dub All Stars designed Citizen Cope poster for their shows in Texas in 2010. This is an amazing 4-color print screened on 19"X25" white French Paper cover stock. The prints were available only from Citizen Cope on their 2010 Texas tour.

Zomic 'Pet Sematary' Art Print

We have done a lot of concert posters with Chuck Moran (Zomic.org) over the last year and a half. This is our very first art print with Zomic. This is a horror inspired 2-color design surrounding the imagery in the Pet Sematary horror flicks. One of the layers is also screened with an additional glow in the dark layer to really let this print come to life. A very limited number of these prints were available and can be obtained by contact Zomic.org or visiting our webstore (coming soon!). This print measures 19"X25" and is screened on French Paper cover stock.

J Dub All Stars 'Bronze Radio Returns' Poster

This is a very bright 4-color print for Bronze Radio Returns. Each layer was screened with love on orange French Paper cover stock. A limited edition of these J Dub All Stars prints were produced and available from the band throughout their last tour. The print measures 19"X25".

J Dub All Stars 'Uncle Lucius' Poster

Check out the October 20th 2010 Uncle Lucius and Friends print for their performance at Threadgill's World Headquarters. This is a 1-color print on black speckle tone French Paper cover stock designed by John Warner over at J Dub All Stars. A very limited amount of these posters were produced and were sold the night of the show.

Zomic 'Brad' Poster

Sorry for the delay in getting some updates and posters on the blog! Here is a smashing new design from ZOMIC.org for Pearl Jam's Stone Haggard band Brad. The poster was for their performance at the World Cafe Live in Philadelphia, PA on October 8, 2010. This is a 3-color print designed by Charles Moran at Zomic.org and was sold at the show. Copies will soon be available on ABNRML.com and are already available through Chuck. A very limited edition print screened on 12.5"X19" French Paper cover stock.

J Dub All Stars 'Amandla' Poster

Here is the brand new poster by John Warner of the J Dub All Stars for Amandla. Amandla is comprised of members of Ween and will be playing every Wednesday in July at the Lakeside Lounge in New York. This very limited edition 4-color print will be available at each of the shows. 50 of these limited edition prints we screened on 19"x25" oatmeal French Paper cover stock.

Joe Castro / ABNRML 'She and Him' Poster

Do you like indie films? Do you like M.Ward? If you like indie films you probably know actress Zooey Deschanel from roles in Almost Famous, Yes Man, The Happening and Elf. MWard is an accomplished artist and producer who has released several fantastic solo albums and also teamed up with Conor (Bright Eyes) and Jim James (My Morning Jacket) to form the recent super group Monsters of Folk. Together, M.Ward and Zooey make up She & Him. ABNRML was lucky enough to produce this print for She & Him's show at Penn's Landing in Phildelphia on 7/9/10 for Live Nation and the band. We enlisted the help of Philadelphia based Joe Castro to bring this 3-color print to life. It is printed on 19"X25" mint French Paper cover stock. 100 of these babies were produced, 50 are available at the band's merch store at the show. A few remaining copies will be available from Joe or ABNRML.

If you have not given a good listen to Ween's tune 'Buenos Tardes Amigos' in a long time, you need to go buy it and then look at this print. It is a great song and the inspiration for the latest T&A / ABNRML poster. Designed by T-Bone & Aljax and printed and produced by ABNRML.com, this poster marks the 4th Ween poster collaboration! This one is printed on 9.5"X25" French Paper mustard yellow cover stock. It is a 3-color print and will be available at the show! A limited edition of 80 prints were screened. 60 will be available at the show and the rest from either T&A or ABNRML!

Jason Baldwin 'Twangfest 2010' Poster

You might remember the 2-C on red Twangfest poster we printed last year. It was one of our very first posters so we are proud to have them return to print the 2010 poster. It is a 1-color print on 19"x25" French Paper blue glo-tone cover stock. We added a thick layer of glow in the dark to really let this design pop at night! It was designed by Jason Baldwin. A limited number of 120 copies were available at the concert. A matching shirt was also created. We look forward to the 2011 design!

T-Bone & Aljax / ABNRML 'STARS' Poster

This is by far the creepiest ABNRML print we have done yet! This is the new poster for Stars' Thursday, June 3rd 2010 performance in Philadelphia, PA. The show is at the First Unitarian Church and is the kick off show of the new tour in support of their new album 'The Five Ghosts'. We were instructed to keep to the theme of the album for the poster design. We enlisted the design skills of T&A and they came up with this creepy 2-color print. Both the silver and gold were screened with metallic inks. Only 50 of these 19"x19" prints were screened and will be available at Stars' merch stand at the show and from ABNRML on our future web store! (yes, store!) ABNRML have been big fans of Stars for a long time so we are very pleased to produce this print! While albums ago, Set Yourself on Fire is still one of the best albums ever made. We have high hopes for the new one!

This is Zomic's second Mono screen print ABNRML has printed for Zomic. This is a 3-color design screened on 12.5"x19" grey French Paper cover stock. This is also much more than a single show poster. This Zomic print is a tour poster for several of Mono's North American Tour shows. Zomic / ABNRML 'Free Energy' Poster

If you have not heard of Free Energy yet, you will. Free Energy currently resides in Philadelphia, PA and has been taken under the wing of DFA producer/LCD Soundsystem's James Murphy. The production on the album is raw rock and flawless. This 3-color print was designed by Charles Moran (Zomic.org) for ABNRML for Free Energy's performance at the First Unitarian Church on May 28th, 2010! You need to check this band out! J Dub All Stars 'Particle Benefit' Poster

This was a quick run of a 2-color poster from J Dub All Stars we did last week. This design was printed on 19"x25" orange butcher Cover Stock from French Paper. This print was for a special benefit Particle was playing in California for two fans who passed away. 300 of these were screened and shipped overnight to CA for the show!

T-Bone & Aljax / ABNRML 'WEEN #3' Poster

Take a gander at this terrific design for WEEN's 'semi-hometown' show in Sayreville, NJ on May 20th, 2010. This 4-color print was designed by T-Bone & Aljax and produced and printed by ABNRML. It is printed on 19"X25" French Paper cover stock. A limited edition of 100 prints were produced. 60 will be available at the show and about 35 from ABNRML or the artists. Zomic / ABNRML 'Caribou' Poster

This is ABNRML's new favorite Zomic poster. This is a 3-color print for Caribou's performance at the First Unitarian Church in Philadelphia, PA on Mother's Day! ABNRML has been listening to Caribou for a long time (Yeti was a'06 iPod classic) so we are very excited to have printed this and teamed up with Zomic on this project. This design was screened on 12.5"X19" purple pop tone French Paper cover stock. The colors really pop and the design has a lot of subject matter to look at when you see it up close. Joe Castro / ABNRML 'Josh Ritter' Poster

Here is the latest Josh Ritter silk screened poster for his show this Friday at the TLA in Philadelphia, PA! This print was designed for ABNRML by Joe Castro of Red Attic Studios. It is a 2-color print screened on red 19"X25" red French Paper cover stock. 100 of these were screened and only 40 will be available to the public at Josh Ritter's merchandise stand at the show. What appears as white in this picture is actually a metallic silver ink. We are very excited for this show as we just caught his free-at-noon performance a few weeks back at the World Cafe Live. The new album is excellent so I highly recommend picking it up and checking out this show!

Joe Castro / ABNRML 'Frightened Rabbit' Poster

"You're the shit and I'm knee deep in it..." ABNRML loves Frightened Rabbit and that lyric has always been one of my favorites. Frightened Rabbit exploded onto the scene with their sophomore and fantastic album 'The Midnight Organ Fight' and will follow it up with the 2010 release 'Winter of Mixed Drinks'. This 2-color print is for their sold out performance on April 30th at the First Unitarian Church in Philadelphia, PA. The print is the second print to be designed by Joe Castro and printed by ABNRML. This simple and elegant design was printed on 19"X26" charcoal French Paper cover stock. A limited amount of these were produced and will be available the night of the show and through both Red Attic Studios (Joe Castro) and ABNRML.

Joe Castro 'Echo and The Bunnymen' Poster

This print marks the first poster collaboration between Joe Casto (Red Attic Studios) and ABNRML. Joe was gracious enough to work on the ABNRML holiday swag that was passed around to family and friends over the break and we are honored to be a part of this poster. This poster is a 2-color print for Echo and the Bunnymen's show at The Keswick Theater on April 25, 2010. It was printed by hand on 19"X26" navy 140lb French Paper cover stock. A limited edition of 35 prints are going to be available to the public. The remaining prints are being used by AEG for promotion. We look forward to future collaborations with Joe!

T-Bone & Aljax / ABNRML 'WEEN #2' Poster

After all the success with our first WEEN poster and the subsequent success of the WEEN t-shirt design, we were approached to produce another great concert poster for the group. This awesome 3-color design is screened on trimmed down black French Paper cover stock. Designed by T-Bone & Aljax and printed & produced by ABNRML, this print will be available on April 7th in Winston Salem, NC at the show AND after the show through us. I limited number of 80 prints were produced and are sure to be a collectors item! We looking forward to our future collaborations with Ween!

T-Bone & Aljax / ABNRML 'Hot Chip' Poster

Behold the brand spanking new poster for Hot Chip's show at the TLA in Phildelphia, PA in late April. This is a very special poster for Abnormal. We have loved and listened to Hot Chip since their 'Coming On Strong' days, seen them several times live and love their 2010 release 'One Life Stand'. We are proud to team up with ABNRML cohorts T-Bone and Aljax to produce this amazing 4-color silk screened poster. The design was screened on 19"X26" pink French Paper cover stock. Only a limited number we printed half go to Live Nation and Hot Chip so if you want one drop us a line! The poster will be available the night of the show. (4.25.10) Hopefully this is the first in a long line of Live Nation approved prints!

Zomic 'The Dillinger Escape Plan' Poster

Check out Zomic's latest screen print! This is a 2-color poster for The Dillinger Escape Plan's performance at the First Unitarian Church in Philadelphia, PA on March 28th 2010. 50 of these 12.5"X19" posters were screened on green French Paper cover stock and will be available the night of the show.

J Dub All Stars 'The Breakfast' Poster

J Dub All Stars artist and John Warner protege Mike Giorgi enters the poster scene with a great first print. This 3-color poster was designed by Mike for The Breakfast and Igors Egg (w/ Pyschedelphia) for their March 27th show at The Blockley Poorhouse. It was screened on 19"X26" Oatmeal French Paper cover stock. This was Mike's first screen print and we think it turned out great. A very limited number were screened and will be available at the show. We look forward to printing more of Mike's work soon!

Zomic 'Justin Townes Earle' Poster

Zomic's Charles Moran rings in the year with his first ABNRML screen print of 2010. His simplistic yet tasteful 2-color design for Justin Townes Earle was screened on 12.5"X19" brown French Paper cover stock. The brown is rich with gold metallic flakes which really jump out when you are looking at the poster in person. Justin Earle, Zomic and the print will be at Johnny Brenda's in Phildelphia, PA on March 6th! Pick one of these babies up!

American Babies 'Weight of the World' EP

Head on over to AmericanBabies.net to see the new band website and read about Tom Hamilton's (American Babies, Brothers Past) and his Americana-rock based group American Babies new EP 'Weight of the World'. The CD release party will be in April at the World Cafe Live in Philadelphia, PA. The album art was a concept and design developed by Hamilton and after the success of our projects with Brothers Past, ABNRML was approached by Tom to help get it touched up, finalized and print ready. As with most things art, we enlisted the help of T-Bone and Aljax. The final product turned out great. Stay tuned for our work on American Babies LP 'Flawed Logic' release later this year. If you get a chance to see Hamilton with either Brothers Past or American Babies, do it. You will not regret it.

New VIA AUDIO 2010 T-shirts!

Take a look at the new designs printing as I write this for indie band Via Audio. Via Audio has been a band ABNRML has listened to for years and we are thrilled to print these tour shirts for them. XMU has been playing their new single 'Babies' so watch these guys ascend the indie ladder! Their old tune 'Presets' has always been one of my favs. These two designs will be available at their upcoming shows and possiblyonline through their merch site!

J Dub All Stars 'Dirty Doz Brass Band' Poster

Check out the brand new poster for the Dirty Dozen Brass Band! It was designed by John Warner over at J Dub All Stars and printed on black speckletone French Paper. We used some fantastic metallic gold ink for this 1-color print. It is a family tree of Dirty's musical adventures and we are thrilled to print Phish on a poster! It is going to be included in their new boxset. These posters are signed and numbered by the artist and was a limited run of 100 prints.

Neo-Pangea 'Grow Ideas' Gift Poster

ABNRML buddies over at Neo-Pangea enlisted our assistance in producing some limited edition posters & shirts for some elite holiday business gifts. We held off on posting this until after the holidays as to not blow their secret gift cover! The shirts and prints were red and came packaged in custom screened boxes with matching colors. Neo has been a big supporter of ABNRML and designed our kick ass logo and website. We were more than happy to take part in their holidays and though the print came out real nice. Printed as a 1-color on red 18X25 French Paper cover stock.
